Mumbles, Blackpill and SA1 Waterfront properties see gripper-rod nails rust within years if standard pins are used. We default to galvanised pins on any property within a mile of the seafront.
Suspended timber floors in older terraces
Brynmill, Uplands and St Thomas terraces almost all sit on suspended timber. Loose boards transmit movement into the carpet and crease the pile within months. We screw down loose boards before underlay goes anywhere near the room.
Damp ingress in valley-floor properties
Lower-lying parts of Morriston, Landore and Plasmarl can hold ground moisture. Fitting a moisture-impermeable LVT over a damp screed traps it and lifts the floor. We damp-test before quoting LVT or laminate on ground floors.
Sand and grit on coastal entrances
Houses near Mumbles, Caswell and Langland get sand walked in year-round. Choosing a solution-dyed polypropylene with a tight low-level loop saves the carpet, wool plush in a beach-front hallway is a 12-month carpet.
Stair-runner liability on Victorian flights
Tall, narrow Edwardian stairs in Uplands and Mount Pleasant are unforgiving. Loose nosings are a fall risk and a landlord liability. We re-grip and re-stretch runners rather than re-fitting badly each time.
Heating screeds in modern apartments
SA1 Waterfront and Maritime Quarter flats often have UFH screeds. The underlay and adhesive spec changes completely, we check before quoting, not after.
