Service Overview

What we do , and where it fits in.

What it is

Full carpet supply and fitting, wool, polypropylene, twist pile, loop pile, saxony, Berber, patterned, and stair runners. We carry roll stock from UK mills and order specialist ranges direct, so the price you pay is closer to trade than retail.

Who it's for

Homeowners replacing tired bedroom or lounge carpets, landlords turning round rental properties between tenancies, developers fitting out new builds, and care homes or HMOs that need durable contract carpet installed quickly and cleanly.

When you need it

When the existing carpet has bald patches, lifting seams or stair edges that have worn through; after a flood or leak; before putting a property on the market; or when a room is being repurposed and the floor needs to suit a new use.

Why professional fit matters

A carpet is only as good as the sub-floor prep, underlay and fitting. A cheap fit on a quality carpet still ripples, ridges and wears out early. Our fitters prep the floor, set the right grippers, choose the correct underlay and seam invisibly, that's where the lifespan actually comes from.

What Goes Wrong

The problems that turn up
when it's done on the cheap.

Bald patches and crushed pile

Once the pile flattens permanently it does not bounce back. Replacing now costs less than living with another two years of wear that drops your room's perceived value.

Lifting stair nosings

A loose stair edge is a fall risk, and for landlords, a liability. Re-fitting a worn stair runner is rarely viable; a proper supply-and-fit with new grippers is the safe outcome.

Cheap underlay killing your carpet

A premium carpet on 6mm chip foam will feel and wear like a budget carpet. Pairing the wrong underlay is the single most common reason customers replace a carpet inside 5 years.

DIY seams that show

Seam tape applied without a heat iron, or joins placed in walk lines, become visible within months. A trained fitter places seams away from light and traffic so they disappear.

Why It Matters

What you get
when it's done properly.

Lasts the years you paid for

Correct underlay and power-stretching is the difference between a carpet that lasts 10 years and one that ripples in 3.

Skilled fitters

Buying direct from UK mills cuts out the high-street chain. The same carpet, fitted properly.

Same-day walkable

Most domestic carpet jobs are finished and walkable the day they're fitted, no week-long disruption.

Quiet, warmer rooms

Good underlay drops impact noise and adds measurable warmth underfoot, especially over concrete or suspended timber floors.

Pet- and child-ready

We can specify stain-resist treatments, bleach-cleanable synthetics and heavy-domestic ratings where life will be hard on the floor.

Local accountability

Our regular fitting team know our standards inside-out. If anything needs adjusting after fitting, the same team comes back.

The Detail

How we actually spec the job
materials, methods, situations.

Choosing a carpet is choosing a combination, fibre, construction, underlay, gripper and fit. Get any one of those wrong and the floor will tell on itself within a year. Here is how we think about the choice on a typical Swansea or Cardiff job.

Fibres, wool, polypropylene, polyamide

Wool is naturally flame-retardant, springs back well and looks better as it ages, best for living rooms and stairs where you'll notice the finish. Polypropylene is bleach-cleanable, ideal for pets and kids and far cheaper per square metre. Polyamide (nylon) blends sit between the two: strong, soft and good in heavy traffic. We talk you through which is right for the room before pricing anything.

Constructions, twist, loop, saxony, patterned

Twist pile is the workhorse for bedrooms and lounges. Loop pile (including Berber-style) wears extremely well in halls and stairs but isn't pet-friendly, claws catch loops. Saxony is the deep, velvet finish for bedrooms where comfort beats traffic. Patterned and stripe carpets hide marks and are the right call for landlords and HMOs.

Underlay, the part nobody sees

We default to 10mm or 11mm PU (polyurethane) underlay for domestic carpet, quiet, warm, and the right firmness for power-stretching. Crumb rubber is the heavy-domestic choice for stairs and landings. We do not fit budget chip foam under quality carpet, it ruins the feel and shortens lifespan. Underlay is itemised on every quote.

Stairs and landings

Stairs are the highest-wear surface in a house and the most common fail point in DIY fits. We use stair-rated underlay, proper waterfall or cap-and-band finishes depending on the carpet, and bevelled grippers set to the correct gap so the carpet pulls tight into the riser. A well-fitted staircase is the single best indicator of fitting quality in the whole house.

Domestic vs landlord vs contract

For private homes we lead with comfort and longevity. For landlords and HMOs we lead with cleanability, stain resistance and quick turn-around, patterned polypropylene with a contract underlay is often the right answer. For contract work (offices, care homes, schools) we move to commercial-rated carpet tiles or broadloom with adhesive fit. See our commercial flooring page for that side of things.

FAQ

Common questions
answered straight.

How quickly can you fit?

+

Most domestic jobs are booked within 1–2 weeks of quote acceptance. Urgent landlord turn-arounds between tenancies can often be slotted in sooner, call the showroom and we'll be honest about the next slot.

Do you remove the old carpet?

+

Yes. Uplift and disposal of the existing carpet and underlay can be added to your quote. We also handle basic furniture moves on the day so the room is clear to fit.

Can I walk on it the same day?

+

Yes, carpet is walkable as soon as the fitter leaves. We recommend keeping heavy furniture off the very edges for 24 hours so the carpet settles into the grippers.

How long should a fitted carpet last?

+

A mid-range carpet on correct underlay, fitted properly and vacuumed regularly, will look good for 8–12 years in a bedroom and 5–8 years in a busy lounge or stairs. Cheap underlay or poor fitting cuts that in half.

Do you offer a guarantee?

+

Yes. Our fitters provide a 1-year workmanship guarantee — if a seam lifts or the carpet ripples from the fit, our team returns to put it right. Manufacturer product warranties on the carpet itself vary by range (often 5–15 years) and are passed on in full.

Do you fit carpet on stairs only?

+

Yes. Stair-only fits are common, especially when the rest of the upstairs is being changed to hard flooring. We carry stair-rated underlay and bevelled grippers for the job.

What if my floor is uneven?

+

We assess the sub-floor on the measure visit. Minor unevenness is handled with underlay choice; serious dips or rotted boards need patching before fit, we'll quote that separately and honestly rather than fitting over a problem.
